Then he said : ' Go in !

Then he went in .
Híru ahirahkaawarit rattacápahtu’ .
Then he put wood in it fine chips of wood .
Híru ahiraarukáriwis .
Then he plugged it .
Híru ahí’at hi ahahiírara’ .
Then he went and he brought hay .
Hawá aharahkaáwarit .
Also he put the hay in it .
Hi caskí ahuháhcaakawista   hi riiraruuraakítawi
And a little it was going to stick out , and its being the reason
rihwícka’     Aáka’   kukaakiíka .
one'll think : ' Oh , there is not anything in there .
Tiihuksiirahkaáwa tirutiírahcaakawi .
There must just be hay growing there this sticking out .
Hi kukariiriíka’ .
And there is nothing in there .

Ráwa hi ahakaá’at Ícaas .
Now and he went in Turtle .

Hi aharahkaáwarikusitit racapáhtu’ hi ahahiirahkaáwarit .
And he began putting them in it fine chips and he put hay in it .
Hi ahawáku’     Ráwa hawiíraaraara’ .
And he said : ' Now they are coming .
  Ráwa ahahactícta’i iriirahiírahcaakawi .
" Now he lit it where the hay stuck out .

And it was becoming night and the coals began to spread out .
Híru ahiíku Ícaas .
Then he was Turtle .
Hi ahuúta   ahakúsit iraáku Ícaas .
And he did it : he picked him up that Turtle .
Raaruuwítaruuca’ hi iraáku   aáka’   ruuwití’
He just picked him up and that one , Oh , then he was
kuuhaáras Ícaas .
he was cooked Turtle .
Iíka’   kuuhaáras .
Oh , he was cooked .

Híru ahiwaáwaa’isitit .
Then he began to eat .
Hi ká’it ahuuhaárihta .
And salt he had (a bag of) it under his belt .
Híru ahawaáwa   ahawaáwa   ahawaáwa .
Then he ate , he ate , he ate .
Ahakaruuwaáhac .
He ate things up .
Ruurahkaruuwaáhac ruu’ahiwáku’     Aáka iriwitúraahi .
After he ate things up then he said : ' Oh that is good .
Witatkaáwaki’it .
I am full .

Híru aharitpahpíraa’ .
Then he raked the coals .
Híru ahiiracákupu waátisu’ .
Then he gathered them up the remains .
Híru ahiwáku’     Títaku riiruutatikasáhista .
Then he said : ' Here I am going to lie on it .
Tíraaku tirikuriihíwic kúsuraa wirikukírikaa .
This one as he appeared to me he will look good when I wake up .

Iwiraáhku hi kuhátkasitit .
While it was there and he fell asleep .
Hi kuhátkasitit .
And he went to sleep .
Hi kíci hawá rakuukíwira raáku’a kuhuútiirit .
And but also a different one when he came he saw him .

' Now , wake up !

Hi ahawaawaá’isitit raáwitki .
And he began to eat them the remains .

Then he thought : ' Don't let him blame anyone .

  Kítu’ ahakstarahkicitkawaákaru’ .
" All he greased his hands all over .
Híru ahúci’a   ahítki irahaakarátawi ahituukúwarit .
Then he did it : fat his mouth he put it in his mouth .
Ruuwituucícaaka .
Then it was hanging from his mouth .
Hiru ahirúcpa kítu’ .
Then it was spread all .
Witúci’a kirittaáriri’ a atkahaaraáriri’ ahítki .
He did it on the eyes and on the ears (with) fat .
Ruu’ahickákica ahítki .
Then his face was greasy (with) fat .
Híru ahiísa .
Then he lay there .
Ruuwituucícaaka hi ahihuukúrisa
Then it was hanging from his mouth and he was lying with it in his mouth

Hi ahaakirikaá híraasa   kíci ruuriwiikuúhat
And he woke up the other one lying , but he must have gone

the one who ate everything up again .
Ahawáku’     Aáka’   úh   iíka   hawaá
He said : ' Oh , ugh , oh , also
tiíritaakúrisa =.
what I have in my mouth !
Wikaakaatiriirarásku .
I have nothing to eat now .
Uu   itkásiri’ pitkusíhiri’ tihatuuhaá’it ratkuwaáwa’a
Oh , in (my) sleep twice I must have dreamed that I was eating

Tihatuksitkaspaáwa .
I must have been eating in my sleep .
Kuhtuú kítu’ kuhatkaruuwaáhac .
It seems everything I must have eaten it all .
Ráwa hawá tiriíku ahítki tiratuukúrisa .
Now also here it is fat that I have in my mouth as I lay .
Kítu’ wititihatkirittahpícistu’ a itkahaaraáriri’ .
All I must have greased my eyes and on (my) ears .
Ráwa hi ahakírikaa .
Now and he awoke .

Iraá wití’ Ícaas irakaawárika irahaácca rákucu’
When he came he was Turtle that one he put in that log a big log
ahahattarariíra’u iriiaharásika Ícaas irii’ahuhurícakat
the log he burned where he cooked him Turtle the one who was tricked
ahaácatka .
his being roasted .
Tiwirahaákawa’ac ti’ahiíraa’ .
After he ate this other one came .
Ahaá’ kici iwirihkaruuwaáhac .
He came but he ate everything all up .
