" Then he went .
Tiraata wiruu’ahiirit Kúruks .
As he went there he stood Bear .
íraata Kúruks wiruu’ahiirit .
As he went Bear there he stood .
Ruu’ahikuúwaaru’ .
There he butchered it .
Kutuuhaa’iiriksat íraata .
He went to see it as he went .
Aki kúhiiwarit táraha’ a kutíkuutit .
And here he must have shot it a buffalo and he killed it .
Aki kutíkuutit .
And here he killed it .

Irawicata tíraata Tahkútiri     Ráwa   ápat .

Then he put them in it and after he put them in (the bundle) that one
Tahkútiri hiru ahiracakus iraáriki .
Tahkútiri then he put them on his back that one .
Hi aháhatta rattaáwiskaaru’ rakuraáwisa .
And he had a pipe pipe to smoke .
Hi wiraracakuska hi ahuurarukstat hi
And after he put the bundle on his back and he took his tobacco pouch and
ahahuukitá’uc rattaáwiskaaru’ .
he lay it on top pipe .

Hi wiratawiraata hi Kúruks ahuuhaa’iirit .
And when he went down and Bear he saw it .
Hi ahiwáku’     Iíka   rattiíki   iriwitúraahi .

Now then he put the bundle (of meat) on his back .

Hiru ahiwáku’     Ráwa   ruusíksa’   ápat =.   Aáka
Then he said : ' Now , come on , grandfather ! " Oh
  Kúruks hiru ahiracahpa .
, Bear then he put it on his back .
Hiru si’ahíwa .
Then they (du) went .

Ahawáku’     Apat   kiiki ruuta =.  
He said : ' Grandfather , what is it ? "

Caátki tatirii .
A bundle I have .

  Ráwa   aáka títaku sukstacawu =.  
' Now , oh, here hang it up ! "

Uukickatat aharacawu .
On the west side he hung it up .
Tiraáriki witiwáku’     Rakuuta raawiirakuuru’   hi
This one he said : ' When one goes (on) the warpath , and
tiracakusta iraata raawiirakuuru’ .
he is to carry it on his back when he goes (on) the warpath .

Hi iraáriki Kúruks ahawáku’     Ráwa tahitpaaruuku’ .
And that one Bear he said : ' Now I am making a fire .
Rihúksu’ riiritpahkatuusukut hiru itiicat[itiicit] kíriku’
Only when the coals spread out then I'll roast it something

Eat the meat ! "

Ahawaawa’a .
He ate .
Ahakaawakiita .
He became full .

  Aáka’a   rattiíki   kira kuusikutkasitit .
' Oh , grandson , I think I will sleep .
Tikuuriciisat .
I am tired .

Witiwáku’     Títaku witiisúksuc =.  
He said : ' Here lie down ! "

Aáka   ruuwiti’ihihitkatáku .

Tiraáriki Kúruks ahawáku’     Tatihkiiraraahuukahísta .

  Ráwa aaturuucuksaara Kúruks   iriirakuraa’u   iraaku

Now , grandson , that is good .

Then he said Bear : ' Oh .
  Hi ahahaakirit ritpáhpiraahus .
" And he picked up a stick the coal poker .
  Ráwa witatkaruuwaahac iriirasiriirikstaa-
' Now I have eaten up what you had
huukatawi .
hanging on the wall (in your bundle) .
Rikutatirii haákawahcisu’ .
That is mine food .
Aáka   cíkstit raatutaakawa’ac .
Oh , well I ate .

  ? ! Here don't stay ! Hurry ! "

Witiwáku’     Aáka’ .
He said : ' Oh .
  Hi ahawiitit riirariikawi .
" And he sat down by the door .
Raaruuwiti’ahkataruukuku’ iraáriki a witihuuricisparit .

There he just lay in (the lodge) .
